PMYC aims to be a leading club for off-the-beach sailing on Port Phillip Bay, and relies on its members to contribute to the continuing development and operation of the Club. This involvement promotes the friendly culture of the Club and ensures responsiveness to members’ needs.

The Club has been operating on the foreshore of Port Melbourne for over 100 years and recently commenced using a new Clubhouse.

Some news on one of our Juniors.
Andrew Gillies has had a pretty good year, with James Sly he won the 29er National Championship at just 15, making them the youngest ever winners of the competition. They were also awarded the inaugural Nick Peate Memorial Trophy for Outstanding Sportsmanship.

So apart from being the Australian Champion in both Youth and Open - he is now Victorian Youth Sailor of the Year, he and James Sly were nominated as Yachting Australia Youth Sailors of the year (one of 4 nominations - the other 3 were all gold medallists and World Champs but Andrew was happy to be in the mix none the less). They have just won the Junior Team of the Year at the Victorian Sport Awards beating the Boys U/16 Softball Team, U16 Metro State Representative Women's Basketball Team and the U18 Men's Table Tennis Team. Both Andrew and James have also been nominated for the Leader sports star of the year.

Andrew also represented Australia at the Australian Rugby Union National Championships recently so he has a Leader nomination in his own right also for both Sailing and Rugby.

Well done Andrew! Can't wait to see how many of our current Juniors and Tackers can follow in your wake.
